Kayak Everglades National Park Full Day Tour w Gourmet Lunch included
Kayak to an ancient Calusa Shell Mound, hike a tropical hardwood hammock or paddle out to the islands on the Gulf of Mexico
Wildlife, wilderness and a kayaking.  Learn about the Calusa that once inhabited this biologically diverse habitat, and early pioneer settlers.  We identify a variety of plants, birds, and animals in the Park with there is plenty of time to explore.  We depart from the Park Ranger Station in Everglades City and paddle into the National Park.  We stop on a local key for lunch and hiking.  Great opportunity for photos!   We will poke around in coves and passes, then return to the Park's launch.  
Cost: full day-$80  inludes lunch
   
   
Pictures, (left to right) crossing the bay, taking photos in the pass, visiting the shell mound, a strangler fig in a tropical hardwood hammock, a mangrove forest, and the back of the shell mount, prickly pear cactus spilling over the edge of the mound. Super cool environment, full of history and biologically diverse.


Everglades City Kayak Tour
Travel around the island that is Everglades City.  A unique way to view this quaint fishing town.  Pass by historic waterfront properties, the world famous crabbing operations that run out of Everglades City, and cruise thru lake placid and see classic mangrove habitat. 
Cost: half day-$60 

Both tours leave from the Everglades National Park Gulf Coast Visitor Center Parking lot. 815 Oyster Bar Lane, Everglades City, FL Please park in the grassy parking lot where the kayak launch is and not the paved parking lot if at all possible.  Maps and directions to all of our launch sites


 

 
Lover's Key and Big hickory island estuary tour  (Located on Estero Blvd just north of Naples and south of Ft Myers Beach)
Beautiful Gulf waters, sparkling blue and white sandy shelling beaches await visitors to this shore.  Dolphins are frequently seen, as are pelican, osprey, blue herons, white egret, and sometimes the elusive roseate spoonbill.

We launch at New Pass/Hickory Island (see map)  If we paddle north, we will coast along Lover's Key State Park. If we paddle south, we coast along Big Hickory Island.  We stop at the beach additional sight seeing and wildlife watching. Both are outstanding trips.

 We will be parked on the west (Gulf of Mexico side) of Estero Blvd just south of the bridge that says NEW PASS. The parking area is just off the street.  We physically park in front of the green fence that says Big Hickory Island Preserve.  Maps and directions to all of our launch sites  If you are coming from Ft Myers south on Estero Blvd please allow extra time for traffic.

Estuary  Tour
Mound Key is located in Estero Bay- FL's first  aquatic preserve.  
The combination of subtropical climate, the lagoon configuration, and the vegetation make this estuarine complex one of the most productive in the state.  Approximately 40% of the state's endangered and threatened species are found with this area. The ceremonial headquarters of the Calusa Indians in up until the 1800's, this is a current archeological dig.

The ceremonial headquarters of the Calusa Indians in the 1500's, Mound Key is  the site of a current archeological dig.  History abounds on this island in the Estero Aquatic Preserve.  Florida islands, ancient trails and cultural heritage mix with marine animals and wading birds. Explore this by Kayak to get a one of a kind view. Frequently seen: Dolphin, Pelican, Manatee, Osprey..
We can launch at New Pass for a half day trip, or at the Estero River for a longer full day  trip.

Step back into history on this gorgeous old Florida river.  Wandering and lazy, this river is lined with giant leather fern, bamboo, live oak, Spanish moss, cypress trees and more  $40 for 2 hours, or $50 gets you breakfast at the Survey Cafe across the street before the tour begins!  A favorite river of manatee in the winter.
